Aluminium, stainless steel and Perspex®

Perspex® is a lightweight and shatter-resistant alternative to glass, with half the weight but greater impact resistance. Melior Sports use only branded Perspex®, because it is a premium acrylic and, as such, is manufactured to the highest industry standards possible. Perspex® acrylic has an enviable reputation as the very best acrylic available. We believe that the balance between the practicality of using thin (10-12mm panels), combined with the stress of (mini)squash balls, the very best acrylic panels must be used.

We offer a wide variety of colours that can suit your facility, brand or sponsor.

The brackets are anodised aluminium that are then powder-coated in a colour of your choice. Anodising is an electrochemical process that converts the metal surface into a decorative, durable, corrosion-resistant, anodic oxide finish.

We can even select black or stainless steel coloured nuts and bolts.

This means you can customise the look of your court to your own colour scheme. Time to get creative!

Accessories

MS: Do you want your court to glow in the dark?

Customer: Yes?

MS: Okay, you will need fluorescent panels and UV lights. We can even provide you with fluorescent balls and 'tin' tape.

Customer: What if I get fluorescent panels without the UV lights?

MS: The court will fluoresce during daylight hours more than can be shown on photos. The court is guaranteed to attract the attention of all passers by! It is unavoidable.

Customer: What are the LED lights for?

MS: You can have LED and UV or just one option. The LED lights give you enough light to play all hours.

Customer: Are the lights waterproof and do they need to be plugged in?

MS: The lights are waterproof and battery powered. The batteries last 4-5 hours before either they are removed and charged or a power supply is provided.

Branding

Branding is an extremely effective promotional and marketing tool and our Mini Squash Court is perfect for it. There are 3 main ways that the court can be branded:

  1. We can etch a logo into the Perspex®

  2. The colour scheme on which you decide could match that of your brand

  3. The court can have vinyl applied to it (which can be removed afterwards) for your event

The ball catching net extends 1m above the front wall and this catches 90% of balls that would otherwise have gone out of the court.

The balls that are used are generally mini squash balls or another lightweight ball that is hit softly which is unlikely to cause damage should it venture outside the court. However if this is a concern for you (for example in a shopping mall), we are able to design and manufacture a fully encompassed court.

Other FAQs

What if the panels scratch?

Prevention is better than the cure - helpful advice after the scratches have already happened right? Don't worry, download these instructions.

Very deep scratches are more difficult and some may not come out.

The Mini Court is water resistant? Does that mean it can be left outside?

Yes the court can be left outside under the rain. We have had no issues at all during thunderstorms or afterwards.

Can the Mini Court be kept in one spot permanently?

Yes the court can be kept in one spot permanently. If this is the case, please let us know so that we can send you locking fixings and supply you with ground fixings.

Does the Mini Court have a floor?

No. We found that the Mini Court does not need one. However we are working on a flooring solution so that the  Mini Court can be used on grass.

What happens if it is windy?

The Mini Court has aluminium base plates which weigh down the Mini Court, but if it is really windy, heavy items can be placed on the base plates.

If the Mini Court is kept in a permanent position, it should be fixed into the ground and therefore will not need to weighed down.

We have had a major accident and lost/broken a panel, can you send just one panel?

Yes, we will always be on hand to help you with any issues.

Do you have a Mini Court available for hire?

At the moment (September 2021), we do not have a court available for hire. However if you have several events coming up and you don't want to purchase a court, let us know and we will consider offering this service.

The Mini Court is too expensive for us, can we reduce the price?

We offer a bulk buy service. If we can assemble a group of 5 parties who want to buy Mini Courts, we are able to offer discounts by up to almost 20%. Let us know that you are interested and your details will be added to a list of interested parties in your region and you will be contacted as a group.

Can the Mini Court be shipped to us? We are in *insert country here*?

Yes, we can ship the Mini Court anywhere on the globe, within reason. Depending on your country, depends how we will ship to you. The cost of this will be discussed with you.

Are there any distributors in my country (not GB)?

We are in talks with several interested potential distributors but we have not reached any agreements yet.

How long does it take to build and take down?

The first time you build the Mini Court it will take you 2 hours. We provide full instructions which are clear and easy to understand and there are very few different components.

The third time you build the Mini Court, you will be trying to break the 60 minute mark!

To take the Mini Court down is the same story; 90 minutes the first time, 30-40 minutes the third time.

How many people are required?

At least 2 people, but there should be an even number of people there. For example 2 people, or 4 people, but not 3 people. The odd person would find themselves trying to put in bolts and hold panels up by themselves.

Do you need to be 'handy' to understand the instructions?

You need to know how a bolt works and have your head screwed on, but other than having common sense and some logical thinking, no, the Mini Court can be built by somebody without any manual experience.

How heavy is the court and how big is the largest component?

The entire Mini Court weighs 230kg and the heaviest component is 23kg. The largest component (also the heaviest) is 2m tall and 1m wide. There is no component longer than 2m.

What is the best way to transport the court?

The Mini Court is best transported in a short wheelbase van such as a Ford Transit van. Check the load length of the vehicle you will be using.

It is extremely important that the court is securely fixed so that it cannot slide around. If the panels are slid, they will scratch.
